We have been searching for the perfect place to honeymoon next April, sandles, couples, club med. and even cruses.
After reading the reviews here, looking at pictures, and talking to each other, it is decided. Booking our honeymoon, this Saturday,
We are also going to look into re- doing our vows on the beach in front of family and friends that may want to join us down there. ( as well as the staff ) as they look like they like to have fun.
We can\\\'t wait to relax on the beach and soak up the sun.

My husband and I got married at the resort on 6/17/12. I simply cannot express how grateful we are to Linda, the wedding planner, and ALL of the staff! We had an emergency where my husband needed to go to an emergency room. Naturally, i was horrified being in another country in an ambulance, and having NO CLUE what to expect. The Reef sent a driver with my family to follow the ambulance, who stayed with us for HOURS, and then brought us home (well after midnight). Everyone acted like it was no big deal, when in fact it was above and beyond anything the resort needed to do!!!
Aside from this the staff there are SO friendly, warm, and relaxed! When we left we joked that we felt like we were saying good-buy to old friends, not just bartenders and waiters.
Additionally, our wedding was beautiful. It was exactly what we had hoped for when had started to plan!
My husband and i have NOTHING but good things to say about our week there.
I reviewed a lot of comments from previous guests of the Reef Resort and most were positive so we took the dive and tried the East End. The stay beat our expectations!! You guys have done everything perfect...from teaming up with RedSail Sports, Rental Cars, the restaurants, the view, accommodations...I wouldn't change a thing!! We rented a car and visited all the other parts of the Island, and then coming back to East End was like coming back to our own little part of the Island. Absolutely wonderful!! We'll definitely be back. Thanks again for everything!
My boyfriend and I spent an amazing week at The Reef in February. We stayed in an owners room, Michele Taffet, and had such a personalized experience. The East End of the island was quiet, relaxed and the "true cayman". The beach at the hotel was never crowded and the lounge chairs directly in front of our beach level room were always available to us every day. The food at the bar was excellent and the drinks were strong! The pool was never crowded and we felt like we had our own resort at times. I must say how amazing the staff were. Much to our embarrassment we crashed our rental car driving to the hotel for the first time and it was a total nightmare being in a foreign country and getting into an accident. The security guard let me make an international call to my mother and then drove us to our room. The next morning I called to the front desk to explain the situation, they told me to come right down to the office and they would make all the phone calls I needed from there. As soon as I made my way down I was welcomed by Susan who was the warmest and kindest woman I have met in a long time; she immediately calmed me down and took control of the situation. In addition to getting all the information I needed and making calls for me she set me up with Jake who took me in his personal car to the airport which was a half hour away to report the accident and to get a new car from the rental company. He then drove me to the police station and went inside with me to fill out the police report. I wish I could explain in words how much this meant to me because I was so terrified being in a foreign country and having to deal with the police. Jake and Susan stayed in touch with me for my entire stay and made sure we had everything we needed. They truly saved our vacation!! If you want a personalized vacation where everyone knows your name, and not because you are spending upwards of $500 a night at a huge report, then come here. 7 mile a beach is a drive away, a beautiful one at that, and you will want to come right back to the East End as soon as you get there. Rum point and Cayman Kai are right around the corner and the perfect amount of lively fun and relaxation without the cruise ship crowd of 7 mile.
We love going to The Reef every year; 11years now. We usually stay for an extended week, the past two years we have stayed for 2 weeks. It sure makes it hard to return home:) This year we were there during Hero Day, i would not reccomend a visit during this time. The Reef gives back to the Cayman community by hosting a sailboat reggatta, the kids were out of control and the parents were missing in action:( I would have like to have known about this event in advance, maybe changed the location of our unit or changed our week. Other than that, we love coming every year and hope to stay 3 weeks next year! See you in 2013!!!
Firstly, we want to thank the wonderful and friendly staff for all the care and attention given to Peggy. She broke her right ankle on the first day of our 11 day stay at the Reef. Especially to Mike and Shirley for going out of their way to accommodate us, Mike for getting a wheel chair arranged and Shirley for the extra attention and care she gave Peggy.
Even though it changed our plans somewhat, we very much enjoyed our stay at the Reef and would certainly consider staying here again if we visit Grand Cayman again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing resort. What a great place to spend a vacation, with the wonderful ocean view, beach and pools. Loved being able to snorkel right off the beach.
I stayed at the Reef for a week and I had a great time. Everyone was friendly and very helpful and were making sure my first time to Grand Cayman was special. Even the timeshare staff was great..no high pressure tactics:) Thanks Eddie for teaching me about timeshares!
We had the most wonderful time here! The place was everything it said it was in all of the ads. We were so happy with the week that we spent here! Will certainly go back again! Can't wait!
Our family had a fantastic time! We are already planning our next trip. Please tell Colin that our daughter Cayman said goodbye...he wasn't there when we checked out and she was so sad. He helped make her 9th birthday extra special! Thanks so much to all the staff. All of you are GREAT! And we'll see you soon!
